EPI aims to foster high quality, innovative and policy-relevant economic research. EPI conducts research and studies in partnership with national and international think tanks and/or experts for policy reform and economic growth. Our partners include School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, Overseas Development Institute (ODI), South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE), Daayitwa Foundation and Samriddhi Foundation. EPI research has led to a number of reports.

Response to COVID-19

In its research programmes EPI also responds to emerging and contemporary issues in collaboration with other agencies. For example, in order to better understand the economic impact of Covid-19, we have commissioned 4 different studies covering,

- Implications and policy options for tourism

- Implications and policy options for international trade and investment

- Implications and policy options for manufacturing sector

- Impact of government lockdown on production, trade, supplies and supply chain

A synthesis report on the impact of Covid-19 on the Nepalese economy commissioned by EPI summarizes key findings of all these reports.
